Redneck Makeover

You may have noticed a slightly different look to my blog. Or maybe you didn’t and you are just really unobservant. In which case, allow me to point out the obvious.

I have new, shiny digs.

I booted Big Red. It was time. She was annoying me. I can’t have another woman showing me up with her big boobs and itty bitty waist on my own damn website. One of us had to go, her or me. Since I’m the one paying the hosting fees and doing all the grunt work I figured it ought to be her.

Not that I don’t totally rock a bikini. I do. Really. Dammit, why are you laughing???

It was time for a change. I wanted something a little visually simpler, something that would load a little quicker and make me smile each and every time I saw it instead of making me want to race to the gym and bust my ass to look like Big Red.

Not that I don’t totally look like her, but with blonde hair.

I do.

Really.

Big thanks to Shaz from Swank Web Style Design Studio for putting up with my incessant emails, constant whining and slightly annoying tendencies of nit-picking.

Now when I see my web page, I chuckle instead of feeling the urge to break a sweat and do 50 crunches. Frac, however, may not feel the same way since it’s his image forever captured in a two year old temper tantrum, which is now plastered on my banner.

I really am gunning for that coveted Mother of the Year Award.

An added bonus to the redesign is now when the kids are misbehaving all I have to do is grab my camera and tell them to hold still, I need a new picture for my next blog layout.

I don’t make idle threats so their behaviour miraculously improves.

I suppose Gay Ray could have told them that, though.

Snicker.

For those of you who pop by to ogle the hot chick with flaming red hair and stay for the potty talk, I promise you, nothing else has changed. I’m still the same immature dirty girl I’ve always been.

Dildos and dead kids, that’s my motto.  (Unless you are a an adoption case worker, in which case, I’m totally just joking. Cross my heart.)

Sit back and enjoy the new digs. And while you’re at it, let me know what you think. Feedback is always valued.

I’m a big girl. I can take it.

And if I can’t, I’ll just find an image of you, bust out the ole creative photoshopping skillz and dedicate a post in your honour.

Wink.

I sorta miss the big boobs….nothing like starting off the day with a nice healthy dose of insufficient and lacking.

It looks fabulous, all grown up and stuff.

I’ll miss her, too, because who doesn’t love a good B movie vixen? The new look is very urbane - going to take some getting used to. But since I totally don’t want to be photoshopped into the filling of my own pie, i guess I’ll get there…

I’m glad you got rid of Big Red. She was intimidating and looked MEAN and SCARY! I like the new look. The colors are soothing and your DS throwing a fit looks just like my oldest DS when he threw fits. Hell, my oldest *still* tantrums like that. :)

Well, I think I’m gonna miss Big Red, but I’ll probably get over it. And I do like the new look, although it was a bit of a surprise yesterday when I came here. Had to double check the address bar a few times to make sure my browser wasn’t jacking around with me …

As long as you’re still putting up the killer stories, we’ll keep coming back, love. No worries.

I wouldn’t worry. It’s not like you don’t have HUGE amount of traffic.

I can’t say that I totally like it. I do like the screaming kid, though. Then I shutter, because it hits a little too close to home. *sigh*

I will miss the large woman snacking on cars with her boobs hanging out. I was never one for change. What I really miss is the pick up truck accident at the bottom of the page with the rednecks spilling out or did I imagine that?

I love the new look… especially the picture of Frac throwing a tantrum. Not that I don’t see that every day, but it’s nice seeing someone else’s kid doing it… it’s not as funny when it happens here, actually it makes me want to chew glass, but I can handle it when it’s not mine.
    Now I laugh.
Seeing as I don’t have anything mean to say, I guess that means you won’t be photoshopping a picture of moi on your banner. I don’t mind if you do, just as long as you photoshop me into Kate Beckingsale. That would be great.

    Miss T:

I have no doubt you, indeed, rock a bikini!

I actually saw the new layout earlier today but was in such a hurry (lots of things to do online) that it didn’t register until much later. Big Red was nice, but things change, orbits shift and new stars appear in the sky.

Speaking of stars, I checked out the ‘Charities’ tab, and the photo of your son in his Oilers jersey knocked me flat. Priceless, precious: words like that are inadequate. I choked up a bit, because 1) I know you miss him and 2) it reminded me that long ago, in another life, I was an Oilers fan, too. Back when the Great One still played and Grant Fuhr was the goalie.

Go, girl! The new layout looks GREAT. Please keep the good stuff coming!

Probably a good thing you got rid of Big Red. I was all drooly thinking about her brains every time I came here. Went through 3 keyboards, shorted out from the drool.

Crying toddlers are mostly brainless, so I’m not nearly as inspired to drool like one.

I really don’t have the right to judge since I am too cheap to shell out for a proper design and just use a blogspot template (I just like playing around with the different color variations myself!), but anyway I have to say I’ll miss Big Red. Noticed the new design yesterday and saw it again today and hasn’t quite grown on me yet, but we’ll see! There’s nothing like a good temper tantrum, whether you’re 2 years old, 22 or 72!

Regardless, I come to read your blog because your writing makes me smile and takes me away from Sudan, so I’ll be back either way. Keep on keepin’ on, girl :)
